{"id":97199,"date":"2024-05-13T19:44:16","date_gmt":"2024-05-13T14:14:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jaspertechlabs.com\/marketingmind\/?p=97199"},"modified":"2024-06-11T12:29:08","modified_gmt":"2024-06-11T06:59:08","slug":"cannes-lions-unilever-creative-marketer-of-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jaspertechlabs.com\/marketingmind\/cannes-lions-unilever-creative-marketer-of-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Cannes Lions Announces Unilever As Creative Marketer Of The Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For this year\u2019s edition of <a href=\"https:\/\/jaspertechlabs.com\/marketingmind\/?s=Cannes+Lions\">Cannes Lions<\/a> International Festival of Creativity, <strong>Unilever<\/strong> has been named the <strong>Creative Marketer of the Year 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to this, they had won the title of Creative Marketer of the Year in <em>2010<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Introduced in 1992, the honorary accolade- \u2018The Creative Marketer of the Year\u2019, every year, is presented to a marketer that has amassed a body of iconic, Lion-winning work over a sustained period of time.<\/p>\n<p>The various brands which have been a recipient of the same in the past include AB InBev, Apple, Burger King, Coca-Cola, Google, Heineken, IKEA, Mars, McDonald&#8217;s, Samsung and Microsoft, each of which have demonstrated that consistent and world-class creativity underpinned by a culture of creativity drives business performance \u2013 and have won multiple Lions at the Festival as a result.<\/p>\n<p>When it comes to <a href=\"https:\/\/jaspertechlabs.com\/marketingmind\/?s=Unilever\">Unilever<\/a>\u2019s win at last year\u2019s Cannes Lions, the brand had won various Lions across a number of its brands including Dove, Hellmann\u2019s, Dirt Is Good (known as Persil, Skip and OMO), Magnum, Vaseline, Marmite and Pot Noodle.<\/p>\n<p>In 2023, Unilever\u2019s largest brand, Dove, was awarded the <strong>Media Lions Grand Prix<\/strong> for its <em>\u2018#TurnYourBack\u2019<\/em> campaign by Ogilvy, London \/ DAVID, Madrid. \u2018#TurnYourBack\u2019 was deemed by Media Lions Jury President, Christian Juhl, to be \u201ca timely example of how our industry can use the power of media to protect young people and empower them to reject the pressure they feel to conform to artificial standards and be confident in their true, unfiltered selves.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dove\u2019s inclusive beauty mission was first launched through its 2004 campaign \u2018Real Beauty\u2019, which celebrates 20 years this year. Since then, the brand has been a trailblazer in demonstrating how marketing can drive impressive commercial results. Building on this platform in 2013, the \u2018Dove Real Beauty Sketches\u2019 campaign set out to give striking proof that women are more beautiful than they think \u2013 picking up 16 Lions, including the highly coveted Dan Wieden Titanium Lion Grand Prix as well as the Gold Creative Effectiveness Lion the following year.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, Hellmann\u2019s also continues to stand out in culture through the brand\u2019s \u2018Make Taste, Not Waste\u2019 creative platform, highlighting its long-standing mission to help people tackle food waste in the kitchen, most recently with the help of \u2018Mayo Cat\u2019 at the Big Game. With the same humorous tone, Hellmann\u2019s \u2018Mayo McHack\u2019 campaign taught Brits how to \u2018hack\u2019 the missing mayo item on a famous restaurant chain\u2019s menu, picking up two Silver Lions in PR and Brand Experience and Activation last year.<\/p>\n<p>These award-winning campaigns are testament to the company\u2019s commitment to creativity, underpinned by its marketing philosophy, \u2018Get on the Frontline\u2019, and delivered by its Creative Excellence program focused on effectiveness education, increasing creative ambition, nurturing creative talent, and eliminating barriers to creativity.
